Is Hardik Pandya playing today in RR vs MI IPL 2026 clash?

The IPL 2026 match number 13 has been scheduled with the Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians (RR vs MI) match, which Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati is hosting on Tuesday night (April 7). One of the major questions for this game is whether the MI captain Hardik Pandya is returning to the team or not. 

Hardik Pandya-led MI started the season with a strong victory against Kolkata Knight Riders at home, which was their first IPL season opener win since 2013. In that game, while KKR put a target of 221 runs, MI strongly chased down that target to secure a six-wicket victory.

However, the skipper Hardik missed the next game against the hosts Delhi Capitals, as the franchise soon clarified that the captain was unwell for the game. Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav led MI in that away fixture against Delhi Capitals, which MI lost by six wickets. After MI scored 162/6 in 20 overs, DC chased down the target in 18.1 overs after losing four wickets.  

RR vs MI match set to be played

Despite strong rain interruptions, the ground staff worked really hard to set the ground for a game. While the rain took away more than two and a half hours of the match, it was still set for an 11-over match.

There are no strategic timeouts, while power play will be the first 3.2 overs. In each innings, one bowler can deliver a maximum of three overs, while four more bowlers can bowl a maximum of two overs. There will be a 10-minute break between the innings.
