Ishan Kishan smashed a stunning half-century in the IND vs NZ final at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday. He came in to bat after Abhishek Sharma got out in the 8th over. The left-handed batter added quick runs and built a strong partnership with Sanju Samson.

Kishan reached his half-century in just 23 balls, keeping the runs flowing for the India national cricket team. His fast scoring put India in a strong position and on course for a 250+ total in the final.

Soon after arriving at the crease, Kishan attacked the bowlers. He hit Rachin Ravindra for two back-to-back boundaries and later added another boundary off James Neesham. He also played attacking shots against Mitchell Santner and Lockie Ferguson.

Sanju Samson’s Explosive Knock in T20 World Cup Final

Sanju Samson played a brilliant innings in the T20 World Cup 2026 final against the New Zealand national cricket team at the Narendra Modi Stadium. At first, he took some time to settle. Abhishek Sharma scored quickly in the early overs. But after Abhishek got out, Samson started attacking the bowlers and played fearless shots. He scored 89 runs from 46 balls.

With this innings, Samson joined a special list of players. He became one of the few players to score half-centuries in both the semi-final and the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The list also includes Virat Kohli and Shahid Afridi. In the semi-final, Samson scored 89 runs against the England cricket team and helped the India national cricket team win by seven runs. He was also named Player of the Match.

Samson continued his strong form in the final. Ishan Kishan, who batted at number three, also kept the momentum going and scored a 23-ball half-century. Along with Abhishek Sharma, their performances helped India create history. It was the first time in T20 World Cup history that the top three batters of a team each scored a half-century in the same match.
