It will take some time for the entire cricket-loving fan to overcome Virat Kohli's retirement announcement from the Test. For almost 14 years, he served his nation in the longest format of the game. Then all of a sudden, he decided to walk away, leaving his fan in utter disbelief. Virat Kohli, in the past once said that if he finds his mind not engaged with the game like before, then he'll leave the field; no matter how his body condition is, he'll leave, and Kohli did the same. Virat, at 36, in physical condition at his peak, retired from Tests. Perhaps his mind can't take anything more.
Fans outside the core cricket-loving domain also expressed their disbelief after reading his retirement announcement, which he shared from his verified Instagram account. Speed, known for his crazy love of football and as a diehard Cristiano Ronaldo follower, is shocked after reading the Instagram post. In his live YouTube reaction video, Speed read Virat's heartfelt message thoroughly and then burst out of emotions. One by one, the legends are retiring. Like countless cricket fans, he also can't believe his eyes that Kohli is no longer a member of the prestigious format of the game.

"Don't know, man, what is going on. Legends are retiring..." These are the words from Speed, and perhaps the same words many other cricket enthusiasts are currently uttering in their minds. Virat Kohli debuted in Test cricket back in 2011 and then did not take too much time to establish his legacy.

With his exceptional batting skills and an unyielding will-to-win attitude, Virat Kohli led Team India to several historic milestones in Test cricket. As captain, he recorded 40 wins in 68 matches — the most by any Indian Test skipper — surpassing legends like MS Dhoni (27 wins in 60 Tests) and Sourav Ganguly (21 wins in 49 Tests). Kohli’s leadership transformed India into a dominant force, known for aggressive play, strategic discipline, and fearless performances both at home and abroad.
Under Kohli's captaincy, India reached the No. 1 spot in the ICC Test rankings and held it for 42 consecutive months from October 2016 to March 2020. His tenure saw iconic series wins, including back-to-back Test series victories in Australia (2018–19 and 2020–21), a feat no other Asian captain had achieved before. Kohli’s era reshaped India's overseas reputation, proving that the team could not only compete but consistently win in challenging conditions across the globe.
