The one who should be nervous about playing on such a big stage at this age is actually fearless. Instead, it’s the bowlers who are feeling the pressure because of him.
You’ve probably guessed who we’re talking about—Vaibhav Suryavanshi. This 14-year-old sensation has become the most talked-about name in world cricket over the past few days. Suryavanshi first grabbed headlines when he became the youngest player ever to be sold at the IPL auction. Then, he stunned everyone by hitting a six off the very first ball of his IPL debut. And now, since Monday night, after becoming the youngest centurion in T20 history, the buzz around him just refuses to die down.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi led Rajasthan Royals to a thrilling win against Gujarat Titans with a world-record century off just 35 balls. He smashed 11 sixes and 7 fours before being dismissed for 101 runs off 38 balls. Thanks to his unbelievable innings, Rajasthan is still in the race for an IPL playoff spot.

Rajasthan Royals now face a 'do or die' match against Mumbai Indians, one of the most successful teams in IPL history. Mumbai started the season slowly but has bounced back with five wins in a row, climbing to third place in the points table. Their bowling lineup includes star names like Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, Mitchell Santner, and Hardik Pandya.
But Suryavanshi isn’t someone who cares about names—he only focuses on the ball. His fearless batting style has made even top bowlers cautious. Mumbai will have to be extra alert when facing this 14-year-old rising star.
When asked about the young prodigy at a press conference, Mumbai's star pacer Trent Boult said he is ready to take on the challenge. He reminded everyone that he has faced and dismissed some of the best in the business.
"I have bowled against greats like Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers—they’re world-class players. I'm not worried about a 14-year-old, but yes, I’ll be careful. He’s in top form and batting fearlessly. Facing him will be an exciting challenge," said the 35-year-old Boult.
Trent Boult said, "I've bowled to some brilliant batters around the world, Gayle, AB, all the qualities that comes in these tournaments. I'll be careful not to sound worried about the 14 year old, but it's going to be an exciting challenge". pic.twitter.com/GdNkuAIe6y

Boult also praised the IPL for discovering rare talent. "The whole world saw his performance that night. It’s amazing how a young boy can play such an innings. That’s the beauty of this tournament—everyone wants to grab their chance, and I think he has done that beautifully."
