Italy created history in their second T20 World Cup match as they thrashed Nepal by 10 wickets in the Group C match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 to record their first win in the tournament's history.

Nepal were bundled out for 123 runs

On Thursday (February 12), Italy sent Nepal to bat first, who managed to score only 123 all out in 19.3 overs. In reply, Italy chased down the target in only 12.4 overs without losing any wickets.

Nepal were losing wickets at regular intervals, as the Italian bowlers were very disciplined with the ball. Opener Aasif Sheikh (20), captain Rohit Paudel (23), and Aarif Sheikh (27) managed 20+ runs in that innings, while Dipendra Singh Airee (17) and Karan KC (18*) were the other double-digit scorers.

Five of the six Italian bowlers claimed at least one wicket in the innings, where the Player of the Match Crishan Kalugamage had the bowling figures of 4-0-18-3. Also, the new-ball bowler Ben Manenti got two wickets with the brilliant bowling figures of 4-0-9-2.

In reply, brothers Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca controlled the chasing, and their strong batting performances made the chase very smooth, as the tournament debutant didn't lose any wickets to claim their first victory in the competition's history. The openers had a 124-run partnership for the unbroken first wicket, where Justin scored 60 off 44 balls with five fours and three sixes, and Anthony scored 62 not out off 32 balls with three fours and six sixes.
