Jasprit Bumrah: The Fastest Indian to 200 Test Wickets, Achieves Record-Breaking Bowling Average

During the fourth Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), on Sunday, India's speedster Jasprit Bumrah made history. By taking Travis Head of Australia out, he is now up to an impressive 200 Test wickets this great achievement proves Bumrah is among the top fast bowlers in the game's history.

A Historic Feat

Bumrah has now become the bowler with the best average among those who have claimed 200 or more Test wickets. His astonishing average of 19.56 surpasses that of legendary West Indies pacer Joel Garner, who reached the milestone with an average of 20.34.

Bumrah is the only one in this special group who keeps his average under 20(19.56). His bowling average is even better than the well-known three great bowlers from the West Indies Malcolm Marshall, who took 376 wickets with an average of 20.94 , Joel Garner, who took 259 wickets at 20.97 and Curtly Ambrose, who took 405 wickets for an average of 20.99.

The Fastest Indian to 200 Test Wickets

This 30-year-old bowler just made an amazing record by getting 200 Test wickets faster than any other Indian, needing only 8,484 deliveries. Only three bowlers worldwide have done it quicker: Waqar Younis from Pakistan, with 7,725 deliveries Dale Steyn from South Africa, with 7,848 and Kagiso Rabada, also from South Africa, with 8,153.Around the world, he is in the number four spot for reaching 200 Test wickets the fastest.

Performance and Legacy

Bumrah has been performing well in the Australia series, showing everyone he's the best. He didn't simply stop after getting his 200th wicket he followed it by bowling Alex Carey out and hitting his 202nd wicket. In addition, getting his 29th victim in this series alone has made him the most successful Indian fast bowler to ever play a test series in Australia.

Bumrah, who's only 30, has absurd accuracy and never misses, proving he's the most important player today. His latest unbeatable record doesn't simply make him a legend in Indian cricket it also shows other future bowlers what they need to beat.
