Jasprit Bumrah was the man of the match for India in the series opener at Perth against Australia and surprised all the crowds around the world as one of the finest Test bowlers of this generation.

Without regular captain Rohit Sharma, Bumrah played  role and scripted India's extraordinary comeback. Bumrah was again to the fore with the ball as Australia bundled India out for a lowly 150 on first day, propelling his side back into the contest. He finished the innings with a nerve wracking five-wicket haul conceding only 52 runs at the other end at death overs.

India piled up a massive total of 534 on the board and were looking to chase down their hosts. Bumrah chased on with the New South Wales pacemen, adding three more wickets for figures of 3/42 to take the win by an innings and 295 runs. Not only did his century prove a match-winner in helping Australia dominate further, but he also made this a historic day for Test cricket  this being the first time they played here and lost
