Jasprit Bumrah to miss Asia Cup 2025? Selectors in dilemma

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has to decide whether to include Jasprit Bumrah in the T20I squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, as they have to play a lot of cricket after the tournament. The workload management issue has made Bumrah's availability tough for back-to-back assignments.

According to some freshly published media reports, the board has not yet made any concrete decisions about the speed star. Less than a month to go before the inaugural match of the Asia Cup 2025, which is scheduled to start on September 9. Before that, BCCI will have to announce their squad. If the previous reports are to be believed, then the board can announce the squad in the upcoming week. Prior to that, Ajit Agarkar and his committee took a call on the pacer's future for the competition.

After the conclusion of the 2025 Asia Cup, Team India will have to play against the West Indies for a two-match Test series. As of now, it is unlikely to see Jasprit Bumrah playing back-to-back two competitions. It is now widely circulated that he can participate in either the Asia Cup or the Test series against the West Indies. Though, there is no official confirmation about the topic.

When Jasprit Bumrah will be on action? 

According to some developments, BCCI selectors have yet to decide whether to include Jasprit Bumrah in the squad for the Asia Cup. In the 5-match Anderson-Tendulkar trophy, the fast bowler played 3 out of 5 matches and picked up a niggle on his knee. He missed the crucial 5th match of the series as well. In the Asia Cup, India will enter as the defending champion and one of the favorites to win the trophy.

A few days back, it was claimed on social media platforms that Bumrah can play the Asia Cup and can skip the West Indies series.
