With a total of five centuries and a 371-run lead, why did India lose against England in the first match of the 5-Test series in Leeds?

It is not only a question; it is like a riddle yet to be solved. Behind the unexpected result for team India, there can be multiple reasons—Ben Duckett's century, poor display of fielding by India, lack of support for Jasprit Bumrah—among these reasons anything can happen or a combination of all possible outcomes.

Jasprit Bumrah, before remaining wicketless in the second innings of the Headingley Test, took 5 scalps in the first innings. In this process the right-handed pacer registered his 14th five-wicket haul and 12th in an away Test during the first England innings.

Will the manegement consider Bumrah for the 2nd Test?

After the unexpected defeat against England, Indian cricket fans are curious about the future of Jasprit Bumrah. Before heading towards England, head coach Gautam Gambhir and newly appointed captain Shubman Gill said that the pacer would play only in 3 matches out of five. After participating in the Headingley Test, will the ace bowler be available for the second match, which will be in Edgbaston? Gambhir faced the question during the post-match press conference.

"We haven’t decided which two matches Bumrah will play, but he will play a total of three. We need to manage his workload. The scoreline doesn’t change that… he will play three tests only," the head coach said. Like the coach, the chief selector, Ajit Agarkar, also sounded the same in this statement: "I don’t think Jasprit Bumrah will be available for all five tests. Even if he’s fit for 3-4 tests, he’ll be an asset to us."
