Teachers’ Day is celebrated across India every year on September 5 to honour teachers and recognise their contribution to education and nation-building. The day marks the birth anniversary of former President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a renowned philosopher, scholar and teacher. Schools and educational institutions across the country celebrate the occasion with various programmes and activities to acknowledge the contribution of teachers.

Notably, on this day, Shah has also praised Oman Cricket’s progress and backed further investment in its infrastructure. During his private visit to Oman, he visited the Oman Cricket headquarters and was briefed by President Pankaj Khimji, Vice-President Paul Sheridan, Treasurer Alkesh Joshi, Secretary Madhu Jesrani and other board officials about the organisation’s development plans.
Shah also toured the facilities and met Oman’s national squad preparing for the Asian Games, along with the under-19 boys, women’s and under-19 girls’ teams. He later discussed the development of cricket in Oman and opportunities to host international and regional matches. Shah also recalled Oman Cricket’s contribution during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Oman and the UAE hosted matches in 2021 after the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was moved from India.
