The masterclass from Jonny Bairstow went in vain as London Spirit won The Hundred game against the Welsh Fire by only 8 runs. Thanks to former Australia international David Warner, who played a match-turning 70-run innings.
But the power hit by Bairstow, who is a London Spirit player, emerged as one of the most talked-about points of the match. Because of his clinical strikes, spectators were able to see some mammoth shots flying over boundaries into the stand. Unfortunately, the English keeper-batter did not get the required support from the teammates to win the rivalry.
One of the massive hits from his bat came against Overton. The delivery was slightly on a fuller length, guided towards the leg stumps. Bairstow, the right-handed batter, readjusted his position to swing the blade to launch the ball over the long-off region for a huge six. The ball travelled over the side screen cordon and landed on the gallery.

Two terrific knocks to grace the match
In this match, Bairstow made an unbeaten 86 off 50 with six 4s and six 6s. The middle order of Welsh Fire was not able to support the opener, losing wickets at regular intervals. Green was the only batter who later joined Bairstow to finish the business. Green played 32* off 21 as the number 8 batter. But by then, it was too late. London Dreams got their win; David Warner won the man of the match award for his match-winning 70* off 45, supported by eight 4s and a couple of 6s.
Batting first, London scored 163 for the loss of 5 scalps, and in reply, Welsh registered 155-6 on the board.
