"Just coincidence"- Former India star supports against Jasprit Bumrah's trolls during ENG vs IND 2025 Test series
Former India star supports Jasprit Bumrah's trolls during ENG vs IND 2025 Test series.

After Mohammed Siraj shouldered India over the line for a six-run victory during the fifth Test against England at the Kennington Oval with nine wickets, one portion of the Indian fans went after Jasprit Bumrah, who didn’t feature in the final clash due to workload management, and faced several criticisms.
Sachin Tendulkar, the former Indian captain, has rubbished all these critics against the premier pacer. The Ahmedabad-born finished as the fourth leading wicket-keeper with 14 scalps at an average of 26 with two five-wicket hauls. Siraj, on the other hand, was the leading wicket-taker for India with 23 wickets in five games at an average of 32.43.

“I know people are discussing several things – jo Tests khela nahi, voh hum jeete (India won the Tests he didn’t play) and all that. To me, that’s just a coincidence, to be honest.” Tendulkar expressed in a video on Reddit.

It has been revealed that it wasn’t a case of the pacer picking and choosing games he wants to play. A common decision had arrived that the star pacer was allowed to extend his playing career as long as possible. He suffered a back injury during the BGT 2024-25 before running mid-way through the Indian Premier League, besides being away from the Champions Trophy 2025.
“This is not a case of workload management. There is injury management also in place. He had already undergone a lengthy rehab process in the lead-up to the 2023 World Cup. Ideally, everyone is working to not see a repeat because spending a long time in rehab in case of another injury won’t be easy on him.” The reports of the Indian Express have been added.
“The quality of Bumrah is exceptional. It’s unbelievable what he has been able to do so far. To me, he has been a consistent performer without any doubt. I would put him right at the top with anyone else.” Tendulkar summed up on Bumrah, whom the former Australian pacer, Glenn McGrath, advised to rest for one full season.
