Nearly 24 years after the end of the clash between India and Pakistan in the tri-series with the West Indies in 1991 at the iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah, the reports have claimed that the Indian captain, Kapil Dev, was engaged in a match-fixing scandal when they were chasing 258 runs in the second innings.  

The incident happened just after eight years when they beat the mighty West Indies side during the final of the 1983 Prudential Cup at the iconic Lord’s, which changed the picture of their game on the world cricketing map.

Even the commentators were shocked and criticized the conditions. If India had walked off, they could have been declared winners under the revised system.
