38-year-old Kieron Pollard is still going strong. 7 sixes in 8 balls in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2025) against the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. In the 19th match of the tournament, the experienced batter created absolute mayhem at Brian Lara Cricket Stadium in Trinidad and Tobago. Against SKN, the Trinbago Knight Riders batter scored 65 off 29, maintaining a strike rate of 224.14, powered by a couple of boundaries and eight boundaries.

During an over against Afghanistan spinner Waqar Salamkheil, Pollard went berserk, smashing back-to-back boundaries. Salamkheil had nothing to do but to smile after losing all hope to stop the Caribbean giant. With the help of the 65-run innings, the former West Indies international pushed Knight Riders' innings to 179 runs in 20 overs. At this point in the match, TKR lost 3 batters for only 78 runs. From there, Pollard initiated to drag the run rate. When I returned to the pavilion, TKR was on 168. So far in CPL 2025, the all-rounder has scored 223 runs in 7 matches and 6 innings at an average of 74.33 and a 182.78 strike rate. In the tournament, he already smacked a couple of half centuries as well. 

During the Major League Cricket 2025, he was also in terrific form throughout the tournament. In 12 games for MI New York, he accumulated 317 runs at an average of 39.62, including the highest score of 70 runs. It was his best performance on average in the MLC.

CPL stats and T20I stats in brief 

In CPL, Pollard's best season was during the 2019 campaign with TKR, when he scored 349 runs in 12 matches at an average of 58.16.

During his international career for the West Indies, the big man played 101 T20I matches between 2008 and 2022 to score 1,569 runs at an average of around 25.3, including six half-centuries with a top score of 75 not out. With the ball, he took 42 wickets at an average of about 28.3, with best figures of 4 for 25.
