Arshdeep Singh makes cryptic post AUS vs IND 2nd T20 in MCG.

It was a baffling decision from the Indian management to leave out their most successful T20I bowler, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh, from the last couple of T20I games of the five-match series against Australia in Canberra and Melbourne. The veteran has been exceptional for the Blue Brigade in the recent few T20Is, but still missed so many games due to a combination of factors.

India, under coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar Yadav, decided to go with Harshit Rana as the second pacer with premier Jasprit Bumrah. Rana batted at number seven in the game while the team’s decision of keeping three spinners- Varun Chakravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, and Axar Patel- pushed Arshdeep Singh out of the eleven.

Rana, who even though scored 35 runs in 33 balls with the bat, leaked 27 runs in two overs without any success.

Arshdeep is the highest wicket-taker of the Indian cricket team. The left-arm fast bowler has bagged 101 wickets in 65 innings at an average of below 19, a strike rate of under 14, and an economy rate of 8.37, thanks to two four-wicket hauls with the best bowling figure of 4/9 in an inning.

Overall, the 26-year-old has collected 230 wickets in 174 innings in T20 cricket at an average of 22.70 and a strike rate of 15.90 with an economy rate of 8.52, thanks to five four-wicket hauls and the best bowling figure of 5/32 in an inning. Singh has bagged 97 wickets in 81 innings of IPL at an average of 26.49, a strike rate of 17.6, and an economy rate of nearly nine.

India lost the second T20I clash by four wickets as the home side completed the chase of 126 runs in 13.2 overs. The third encounter will take place on October 02 at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart.
