The exciting run of the Madhya Pradesh cricket team comes to an end as Punjab secured their spot in the semi-finals of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 season (VHT 2025-26). The total upload by the Punjab cricket team proved too much for Madhya Pradesh. KKR all-rounder Ramandeep Singh took the very last wicket of the Punjab vs Madhya Pradesh match and concluded the game. Punjab won the match by a massive difference of 183 runs.
Madhya Pradesh captain Venkatesh Iyer won the toss and invited Punjab to bat first at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Singahalli. The decision to field first proved to be a wrong call as soon as the top order of the Punjab cricket team were firing on all cylinders. Batting first, they registered 345/6 in 50 overs.
Punjab skipper Prabhsimran Singh, who scored 88 off 86, was the highest individual run getter of the match. Along with Singh, Anmolpreet Singh (70), Nehal Wadhera (56), and Harnoor Singh (51) played their parts well. Saransh Jain took a stunner to dismiss Prabhsimran.
