Know the story of the two opening brothers of the Italy side, Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca, who carried themselves to their first T20 World Cup victory against Nepal at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The Mosca family in Italy is fond of football, apart from their two brothers, Justin and Anthony, who had their eyes on cricket and any game for the Italian side when the Covid 19 pandemic broke out. They had grown up in the Italian-Australian community of the two brothers, Benjamin and Harry, in the Sydney suburbs. Hardly they though of opening the batting in the T20 World Cup 2026.
Anthony Mosca had his eyes set on breaking into the New South Wales set-up and playing for the Australia side. Juston, on the other hand, took the suggestion of his then-girlfriend, who ended up becoming his wife, and enrolled in a teaching course. But cricket remained a motivator.

“I personally didn't see this as far ahead. I knew we could compete, but you don't think these things happen to everyday people. But after that, I realised you represent a country. There are high standards. I'm glad it happened because it kicked me up the backside. Now every time you get the call, it's an opportunity. For me, it's the equivalent of getting a baggy green. It is more. That’s me representing my family.” Anthony expressed in an interview with the Indian Express.

Just like the Manenti brothers, both Justin and Anthony were part of the mass migration and realised it could be the pathway to explore. It was delayed till 2022 due to COVID, but they eventually made their international debut against Greece in Finland on July 12. 2022.
Over the next four years, Justin was part of 20 T20Is while Anthony was part of 18 games. They almost qualified for the T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and the West Indies before finally getting the tickets for India and Sri Lanka.
And at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai against Nepal, the Mosca brothers recorded their first World Cup victory by 10 wickets. Justin remained unbeaten on 60 runs in 44 balls with the help of five boundaries and three sixes, while Anthony smashed 62 runs in 32 balls, thanks to three fours and six sixes.
