Australia continues to show its dominance with its eight-wicket win over the England side during the opening Ashes 2025/26 Test at the Optus Stadium in Perth. They came into the clash with three consecutive victories during the three-match Test series against the West Indies in the Caribbean.

Australia were without their premier pacer and captain, Pat Cummins, who was ruled out of the Perth Test, along with the veteran seamer, Josh Hazlewood, who was also ruled out of the same clash and would also remain unavailable for the second Brisbane Test. Steve Smith was given the responsibility to lead the side.

But Australia couldn’t do well either with the bat and were blown away for 132.
