AB de Villiers, one of the most loved cricketers in the world, is known as “Mr. 360 degrees” for his amazing ability to hit the ball all around the ground. He announced his retirement from international cricket on May 23, 2018. He is currently playing in the ongoing WCL tournament in England 2025. In a recent podcast, Mr. 360 was asked to choose between the great Virat Kohli and the great Sachin Tendulkar. He replied with a meaningful answer that left many people surprised.

In that podcast, one of the greatest batters of South Africa, AB de Villiers, was asked a rapid-fire question — “Great Virat Kohli or Great Sachin Tendulkar?”

AB de Villiers replied, “You can’t compare two different generations. I think Virat Kohli is greater in all formats, and Sachin Tendulkar is better in the longer format.” He also added, “Virat Kohli’s cover drive is the best in the world.”

AB de Villiers’ Surprising World XI in WCL 2025

Besides this, the African legend recently picked his World XI for the ongoing World Championship of Legends 2025. His team selection shocked cricket fans and experts around the world. In his World XI, some of the biggest Indian cricket names were missing, including legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah. This created a big debate on social media. Despite not selecting some great Indian legends, he included only two Indian players in his team — MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.

AB de Villiers is now playing in the ongoing WCL tournament for the South Africa Champions. Recently, he scored 116* and helped his team beat the England Champions by 10 wickets. He is also the captain of his team.

The South Africa Champions won their first-ever World Championship of Legends (WCL) title in style, defeating Pakistan Champions by nine wickets in the final at Edgbaston, Birmingham, on Saturday. AB de Villiers was the star of the match, scoring a brilliant century.
