Lanka Premier League 2025 to be held from November 27 to December 23

The official announcement from Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that the sixth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) will take place between November 27 and December 23 in 2025. The declaration came on August 1 when tournament director Samantha Dodanwela explained the current year's LPL timing was designed to match with the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup which Sri Lanka will share hosting duties with India. “The idea to conduct the LPL during this time frame is aimed at aligning the tournament with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026,” said Dodanwela.

The league, which has grown into Sri Lanka’s premier T20 competition, will be staged across three top-tier international venues:

The defending champions, Jaffna Kings, who secured their fourth LPL title by beating Galle Marvels in the 2024 final, are eager to continue their winning streak when the tournament kicks off again later this year.
