December 24, 2025, turned out to be a landmark day for Indian cricket. On the opening day of the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT 2025-26), there was a record number of batters who registered a century each. While most of the spotlights were on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, a few uncapped cricketers also put their names in the record list.

The day started with the aggressive batting display of Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Later, focus shifted to the matches of Delhi and Mumbai as Rohit and Virat were on the field for their respective teams. Apart from Rohit and Virat, Devdutt Paddikal and Ishan Kishan were the other star centurions who claimed a tonne each. At the end of the day, it was Odisha's Swastik Samal who climbed up the ladder by smashing a double hundred.

As there were multiple individual brilliances, cricket fans enjoyed multiple high-scoring encounters.
