Among the five franchises of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), heading into the 2026 season of the tournament, Multan Sultan remains the only side not to retain any player, losing even their captain, Mohammad Rizwan, which has come as a shocking decision from the management. In the entire history of the PSL, Mohammad Rizwan featured in the last five seasons for the franchise, where he smashed 367 runs in 10 innings during the previous edition at an average of 52.42 and a strike rate of nearly 140 with the help of one half-century and one century. That means there is no issue with the form of the batter.

Multan Sultan finished the previous season of the PSL with the wooden spoon, having won only one game in their 10 clashes, and went winless for the last six encounters of the tournament at a net run rate of -2.449.
