Only a couple of days before the beginning of the series last season, Mahendra Singh Dhoni had declared to step down from the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings.

Dhoni picked Ravindra Jadeja in his place. Ravindra Jadeja didn’t succeed as a captain, Chennai Super Kings kept on losing matches and ended up at the bottom of the points table.

CSK President Kashi Vishwanath confirmed the news. Recently during the IPL 2022 season, the team explored different settings regarding a difference in captaincy by naming Ravindra Jadeja as the captain two days before the beginning of the competition however the change didn’t materialise. The trial fizzled and MS Dhoni was taken back to lead the team in the tournament on 30 April.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is viewed as one of the best captains in the history of cricket. Be it the international stage or franchise cricket, MS has been branded by his great work as a skipper, because of which he appreciates enormous praise among the cricket club remembering the current harvest of players in Indian cricket.

The 41-year-old wicketkeeper has been leading the Chennai Super Kings since the inception of the IPL. Furthermore, he has tasted triumph on four occasions. Dhoni has been named as inseparable from the franchise and, surprisingly, the President of CSK had acknowledged the fact that Chennai Super Kings meant MS Dhoni.
