The ball carried straight to the first slip after getting a thick edge. Harry Brook, with his safe pair of hands, did not miss the opportunity. The left-handed opener departed after facing only 8 balls and 13 runs with his name.

Jaiswal was in an aggressive mood, hitting 3 boundaries within those 8 balls, and then Archer hit the bull's-eye. India is one down for 13 on the scoreboard, and England is at 387 in their first innings. The team management of England introduced Jofra for the first time in the ongoing 5-match Test series after tasting a defeat in a second game at Edgbaston. He replaces Josh Tounge in the playing combination.

The hype was there around a potential comeback before the series took off 

Jaiswal has been in promising form from the beginning of the innings, with a century and a half-century already with his name. The return of Jofra Archer was hinted at by the chief selector of England before the series began. For four long years, the pacer was absent from the longest format of the game.

He was rumored to make his Test return through the Edgbaston Test. But the team management asked him to deliver when the situation had gotten more intense. Before putting on the Test jersey, Archer proved his fitness through a domestic contest for Sussex against Durham.
