Management has given orders to Pujara and given due support for his accomplishments: Amre

It is clear that the pressure is on Cheteshwar Pujara. While he was once a key part of India’s middle order, his form has been inconsistent for a while now. Over forty Test innings have passed without a century, and fifty-plus scores are far less frequent now. As a result of Pujara’s batting performance, he has batted ducks a significant number of times and is unable to consolidate innings as he did once.

“I am pretty confident that Cheteshwar got instructions from the management. As I’ve read in the press, he has a score of 6589 runs in Test matches to date. He has earned those runs with his tremendous performance. Having scored runs in crucial moments when Team India was in need of runs, he has won many Test matches for India. To be precise it was not an easy job, but Pujara managed everything efficiently. Amre stated in a recent press conference.  

Even with Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane’s inefficiencies, Amre says the middle-order duo is still capable of returning to form soon. Rahane and Pujara will shine in the future, says the former Mumbai and Delhi Capitals coach, despite competition from Shreyas Iyer, Hanuma Vihari, and Suryakumar Yadav. Those two players – Rahane and Pujara – have delivered when the chips were down for India, Amre added. “The key is to have faith in them so that we don’t doubt their abilities,” concluded Amre.
