MI vs LSG Match Report IPL 2026 – Who Won Today and Key Moments That Decided the Game

Mumbai Indians (MI) managed to defeat the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by six wickets in the 47th match of theIndian Premier League 2026 which was played on May 4 at Wankhede Stadium. MI chased a massive target of 229 runs in only 18.4 overs to seal the match with 8 balls to spare. 

LSG batted first and they scored 228/5 in 20 overs. They started very fast and made 90 runs in the powerplay. Nicholas Pooran played an explosive innings of 63 runs off just 21 balls, hitting many sixes. Mitchell Marsh also scored quick runs and added 44. Later, Aiden Markram and Himmat Singh added useful runs to take the total to 228. For MI, Corbin Bosch was the best bowler with 2 wickets.

In reply, MI got a very strong start from Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton. They scored 143 runs quickly in the opening partnership, which made the chase easy. Rohit made 84 and Rickelton 83, both playing aggressive innings. Even after losing couple of wickets, MI still showed their dominance in their chase. In the end, Naman Dhir and Will Jacks finished the match calmly.

Nicholas Pooran came back in style with a blitzing knock as he scored 63 runs and helped LSG reach a big score. His quick-fire innings in the initial overs provide LSG a solid start.
