Mumbai Indians are ready for their fifth match of the season, having recorded one win and three defeats. After starting the new season with four-wicket and 36-run defeats against Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans, MI thrashed the reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders by eight wickets. However, in their last fixture, MI lost by 12 runs against Lucknow Super Giants.

Meanwhile, it will be the fourth match for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who started the season with two successive wins by big margins. Former MI captain Rohit Sharma missed the last game. While the team management claimed that Rohit could return to the team for the home match against RCB, his fitness test will be taken in the nets on Sunday. RCB's top-order batters are one of their strengths, while the middle-order batters have also shown improvements. They also have the effective bowlers to control the game.
