In Match 8 of the 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) season, Washington Freedom defeated Los Angeles Knight Riders by 113 runs at the Oakland Coliseum. Glenn Maxwell scored an unbeaten 106 from 49 balls and propelled WSF to 208 for 5. Mitchell Owen added a quick-fire 32 from 11 balls. LAKR's bowlers struggled, with only Corne Dry (2 for 33) and Tanveer Sangha (2 for 38) being the only bowlers to have any success.

LAKR's chase of 209 had a miserable result. They were bowled out for just 95 in 16.3 overs. Saif Badar top-scored with 32 and Jason Holder contributed 23. Washington's bowlers were clinical, with Jack Edwards (3 for 15) and Mitchell Owen (3 for 18) leading the charge and dismantling LAKR's middle order. Saurabh Netravalkar was the most economical bowler in the game with 2 for 6 to help WSF to one of the biggest wins in MLC.
