In the second game of the MLC 2025, the inaugural MLC champions MI New York will face Texas Super Kings (NY vs TEX) at Oakland Coliseum in Oakland on Friday evening, June 13 (starting time 6:30 AM IST on June 14). Both teams will start their tournament journey with this fixture. 

MI New York won the MLC 2023 title after beating Seattle Orcas by seven wickets after successfully chasing the 184-run target in 16 overs. In the last edition (MLC 2024), New York finished in the fourth place in the points table, but were eliminated from the Eliminator by the third-placed Texas Super Kings, who were later eliminated by San Francisco Unicorns in the Challenger.   

Texas Super Kings also finished in third place, as well as they were eliminated from the Challenger by MI New York.

In their four meetings, Texas Super Kings won three times and MI New York won once.

MLC 2025, Match 2: NY vs TEX - Squads Status

Nicholas Pooran is set to lead MI New York in the third edition of the MLC, while Faf du Plessis continues to lead his MLC team Texas Super Kings. MI New York will miss Afghan players Rashid Khan and Azmatullah Omarzai in this tournament. 

Meanwhile, Afghan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq has joined MI New York, and left-arm spinner Noor Ahmad has joined Texas Super Kings.
