The Karachi Kings (KRK) came into the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 clash against the Hyderabad Kingsmen (HYDK) after experiencing their first defeat of the season, having already won three games in as many fixtures. Hyderabad, meanwhile, had four successive defeats in as many games.
Karachi, under the leadership of Moeen Ali, for this game, didn’t have their captain, David Warner, who was ruled out of the contest due to injury, while Hasan Ali came back into the eleven. Batting first, the Kings didn’t get a good start with the bat as they found themselves limping at 59/3 in the eighth over.
Moeen Ali smashes Saim Ayub for 22-run over in PSL 2026
Quite surprisingly, Hyderabad's captain threw the ball to Saim Ayub in the 17th over of the innings as Moeen stood with an aggressive mindset, having already smashed 16 runs off just five deliveries. The left-handed batter whipped the first delivery over the mid-wicket region for a massive six.
After a dot on the second delivery, the former England batter took his front leg out and muscled the third delivery for another six over the long-on region before backing it up with another boundary. It was a wide yorker outside the off stump from Ayub as Ali squeezed it over the backward point region.
The penultimate ball was again on the slot, and the Karachi stand-in captain didn’t miss out on it. He belted it high over the mid-wicket fence for another six to acquire 22 runs off that over.
