The bond shared between Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli and all-formats pacer Mohammed Siraj escalated to another level when Siraj framed Virat's last Test jersey in his Hyderabad house. Siraj, in his recent Instagram post, has shown the framed jersey of the batting stalwart.

The Delhi-born played his last match in the Whites in 2024, against Australia during the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Then in May of this year, Kohli announced his retirement from the longest format of cricket, just before the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy.

Through the recent social media post of Siraj, where the bowler shared multiple photos, viewers can see him sitting on a couch with his friend. Just behind the couch, a photo of Siraj and a framed, signed Test jersey of Virat Kohli can be seen on the wall. The sign on the jersey is originally signed by Virat himself. The social media post of Mohammed Siraj has gained significant attention from the net users.

Standout performance from Siraj when the series was on the line

The bond between Virat and Siraj came under the spotlight during their days with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), where the batter backed the emerging pace bowler. After playing with RCB in the Indian Premier League, Siraj never turned back. From the cash-rich league to the highest level of cricket, the rise of Mohammed Siraj could not be so smooth without Virat. When India was playing the last Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy at The Oval without Jasprit Bumrah, Siraj emerged as the hero. He ran over England's lower batting order, took 5 wickets in the second innings, and secured a much-needed win for Team India. In total, he took 9 wickets in the match. Siraj led the pace attack in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, finishing as the series’ leading wicket-taker with 23 scalps.

Virat praised the effort made by Siraj under pressure. On social media, the batting icon wrote, "Great win by Team India. Resilience and determination from Siraj and Prasidh have given us this phenomenal victory. Special mention to Siraj, who will put everything on the line for the team. Extremely happy for him."
