Hype already started to rise as India and Pakistan are again all set to face each other in the Asia Cup 2025, after their clash in the group stage of the tournament. The arch rivals will lock horns at the Dubai International Stadium on September 21, 2025.

Ahead of the match, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi arrived at the ICC academy to meet the Pakistan cricket team ahead of the game against India. As per reports, Naqvi went to the academy to motivate the cricketers ahead of their prestigious fight. Apart from spending some time with the boys, the PCB chairman was spotted with the team head coach, Mike Hesson, during the practice session on the ground.

Before the high-voltage India vs Pakistan match in the group stage of the Asia Cup 2025, the Pakistan cricket team reportedly decided to skip the pre-match press conference as they came to know that match referee Andy Pycroft will be in charge of the match. Journalists asked Naqvi what was the exact reason behind the reason to boycott the press conference. In reply, the PCB chairman said, "We will talk about it soon."

PCB chairman visited Pakistan cricket team camp ahead of India match

On September 14, when the IND vs PAK match was held during the group stage of the ongoing Asia Cup, India, the defending champion, won it by outshining Pakistan in all departments. Surykumar Yadav-led team won the game by 7 wickets and 25 balls to spare, chasing a subpar target of 128 runs.

From this match, the no-handshake controversy initiated. During the toss and after the match, Team India refused to shake hands with Team Pakistan. PCB accused match referee Andy Pycroft of taking India's side and shouted to boycott the tournament ahead of their match against the United Arab Emirates. Though they went to play the match, and by winning it, Pakistan moved into the round of 4.
