MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma shared a special reunion in the stands at Wankhede Stadium as India posted a massive total against England in the T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final.

The match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final between India and England took place on the 5th of March at the famous Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. England won the toss and decided to bowl first on a pitch that looked good for batting. This was the third straight time the two teams faced each other in a T20 World Cup semi-final. Both sides were aiming to reach the final against New Zealand.
The stadium was filled with thousands of fans who were cheering loudly for the Indian team. The fans came in huge numbers to support the Indian team. They seemed to have made the stadium a fortress for the Indian team.

Celebrities and cricket personalities including Anil Kapoor, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and ICC chairman Jay Shah were seen in the stands. Former India captain MS Dhoni was the biggest surprise for the fans. His infrequent visits to the stadium captured everyone's attention.

MS Dhoni is known for maintaining a quiet and private lifestyle and rarely attends matches as a spectator. He arrived at the stadium along with his wife Sakshi. Before the match started, reports had already suggested that Dhoni is present to support Team India. Fans were excited to see him in the stands once the cameras showed him.
The highlight moment came when Rohit Sharma walked into the VIP box and greeted Dhoni warmly. The two Indian legends shared a hug, and the clip quickly went viral on social media. Dhoni had been in Mumbai to attend the wedding of Arjun Tendulkar and decided to visit the stadium as well. The crowd cheered loudly as they saw the two stars together.

Meanwhile, India put up a strong batting display in the first innings of the semi-final match. The team scored a massive total of 253/7 against England at the Wankhede Stadium. Sanju Samson led the way with a magnificent 89 off 42, while Ishan Kishan contributed 39 off 18 and Shivam Dube contributed 43 off 25. Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma finished strongly with quick cameos, helping India set a huge target for England.
