MS Dhoni fined INR 1000 for this shocking reason in Ranchi ahead of IPL 2026
The former wicket-keeper and the captain of the Indian cricket team, MS Dhoni, was fined a minor price of INR 1000 for this shocking reason in Ranchi ahead of the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The former captain of the Indian side and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), MS Dhoni, has been penalized for a shocking reason of over-speeding by the Ranchi traffic police, as reported by India Today. He has also been fined INR 1000 after his vehicle was caught violating the traffic rules and regulations ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.
An e-challan under Section 183 of the Motor Vehicles Act was issued after the Ranchi traffic monitoring system recorded a speed violation near the residence of the former wicket-keeper batter, MS Dhoni. The automatic traffic surveillance of Ranchi detected the vehicle exceeding the speed limit, which triggered a digital challan as part of the enforcement process.

The offence is very minor, but any news regarding Dhoni will always grab the attention of the fans and trend on social media. This follows another legal problem for the Indian captain just a few days earlier, when the Jharkhand State Housing Board issued him a notice over the alleged misuse of a residential plot in Ranchi.

This cited the concerns that the property, meant for residential purposes, may have been used for commercial reasons. The officials stated that the plot has been situated on the Harmu Road in Ranchi city, where the batter resided before moving to his current home on Ring Road.
On the other hand, the preparations for the IPL 2026 have already started as Dhoni has joined the captain of the Super Kings, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and the team for the first practice session at the team’s high-performance centre on March 01. They have been in full swing for preparation for the new edition of the event.
Chennai started their camp with several Indian players, including Ayush Mhatre and Sarfaraz Khan, along with some uncapped players, who have also reported for duty. The overseas players and the foreign coaching staff are yet to join, while the assistant coaches, Sridharan Sriram and Rajeev Kumar, are leading the session.
