The former Indian captain, MS Dhoni, who turned 45 on July 07, 2026, celebrated his birthday and was spotted at Trent Bridge in Nottingham during the third T20I of the five-match series between India and England as the home side tries to make a strong comeback in the series after losing the second contest in Manchester by four wickets.
Dhoni generally keeps himself away from the game. But recently, he has been seen enjoying the games around the globe. Dhoni didn’t feature in a single game during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), as questions continue to be raised over his future in the league.

Dhoni was seen enjoying his birthday at Trent Bridge with some of his friends as he saw the Indian side featuring in the T20I clash. The former wicket-keeper batter, who smashed 10773 runs in 297 innings of the ODI format along with his 1617 runs in 85 innings of the shortest format, was smiling, watching the game.

The former World Cup-winning captain was also seen, before the start of the game, entering the ground as there was a loud cheer from the fans when the camera found the veteran to be standing in the venue.

Prince Yadav bowled beautifully for India to end with figures of 2/30 in his four overs at an economy rate of 7.5. However, Varun Chakaravarthy had shocking figures of 0/35 in three overs. England finished with 201 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs as Sam Curran remained unbeaten on 41 runs off 24 balls.
In reply, India were bundled out for just 76 runs, their second-lowest in T20Is, and lost the contest by 125 runs. They found themselves 0-2 down, heading into the fourth T20I of the five-match series.
