A new chapter in the history of Bengali cricket is set to begin in June 2025. The Bengal Pro T20 League, full of excitement and glamour, is entering its second season—this time on a bigger scale with more surprises and attractions. This domestic tournament, organised by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), has brought the IPL-style thrill to Bengali soil. It is surely a big achievement for cricket lovers in Bengal.

The opening ceremony will be in full Bollywood style. It is known that popular Bollywood singer Sunidhi Chauhan will perform at this grand event held in a stadium in Kolkata. Her performance of Bengali and Hindi hit songs will not only entertain the audience but also add excitement before the tournament begins. The organizers have also hinted at more surprises — like special lighting, famous cricketers being present, and a grand presentation with visual effects.

Sunidhi Chauhan has shared her excitement for the event. With the tagline “Six ho ya Four, Bengal korbe Roar,” the evening promises energetic music and a strong cricket vibe. Fans can book their tickets only on District Zomato.

The men’s matches will start the same day with a thrilling opening game between Malda Sobisco Smashers and Murshidabad Kings. The women’s matches will begin on June 12 at the Jadavpur University campus in Salt Lake, showing the league's effort to support women’s cricket in Bengal.

A total of 8 franchise teams will play in this year’s tournament. These teams include both young talents from Bengal and experienced cricketers. Last year, Sobisco Smashers Malda and the Murshidabad Kings were joint champions. That exciting final is still fresh in fans’ minds. Priyanshu was the top run-scorer, while pacer Mukesh Kumar impressed with his bowling. Their success showed that Bengal can also produce players who shine at the national level.

This year, the organisers have improved the use of modern technology for promoting teams, match broadcasting, and online ticket booking. The matches will be streamed online so that Bengalis outside the state can also enjoy the league. This tournament will be one of the biggest attractions for students and families during the summer holidays.

Cricket in Bengal is no longer limited to the Ranji Trophy or Vijay Hazare Trophy. With the Bengal Pro T20 League, cricket is now reaching every corner of the state. The aim of this league is to discover new talent, make cricket more popular, and celebrate local culture.

So, it can be said that the second season of the Bengal Pro T20 League, starting from June 11, is not just a tournament — it is a grand festival of Bengal’s cricket culture.
