IND vs PAK, Asia Cup 2025 Super 4, Match 2: India vs Pakistan Toss Update and Playing XIs

No handshake between Suryakumar Yadav and Salman Agha

Dubai International Cricket Stadium is hosting the India vs Pakistan Super Fours match in the Asia Cup 2025 on Sunday (September 21), where the Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav chose to bowl first after winning the toss. While there were a lot of dramas from Pakistan for the no-handshake decision from the Indian cricket team during their group stage meeting in the tournament last Sunday (September 14) night, where the Men in Blues won by seven wickets, the Indian team has once again go with the same decision in the Super Fours, as there was no handshake between the Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan skipper Salman Agha at the toss.

While the Indian team also decided not to shake hands at the end of their group stage game against Pakistan, we can see the same situation at the end of the Super Fours fixture tonight. It will be interesting to see how the Pakistan cricket team and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) react to the latest decision, while they had stretched the previous incident to the other matches, including cancelling the pre-match press conference last evening. There are no official rules for a mandatory handshake between the teams at the toss or at the end of the match.

In the Super Fours stage encounter, both teams made two important changes in the playing XI. In the Indian squad, Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy have returned as the replacements for Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh. Meanwhile, Hussain Talat and Faheem Ashraf have been included in the Pakistan playing XI as replacements for Hasan Nawaz and Khushdil Shah.
