The former opening batter and the current head coach of the Indian side, Gautam Gambhir, has shown off his humorous side with a funny caption in the social media post during the celebration of the Teacher's Day.

The former Indian opening batter and the head coach of the national side, Gautam Gambhir, has swagged his humorous side while celebrating Teacher’s Day on September 05. He posted the picture with his mentor, Sanjay Bhardwaj, along with a funny caption on X (formerly known as Twitter). He looked back at the enduring bond between them.
“Now I know what you went through coaching me all those years!! Happy #TeachersDay!!”- Gambhir addressed in a heartfelt post. Replying to that post, the former Indian all-rounder, Irfan Pathan, who has been in the news currently for his Hookah comment on MS Dhoni, replied.

“There is no need for him to change his behavior towards me. When I went to him, I was nobody. Even if my stature has grown, guru toh guru hi rehta hey.” Gautam expressed in an interaction to which Bharadwaj replied, “Gautam is still the same 10-year-old for me. God and life have given him a lot, but with me, he is still the same kid who came to learn cricket.”

Gautam came back home after drawing the five-match Test series for India in the United Kingdom against England as a head coach. Earlier, he won the Champions Trophy 2025 in the United Arab Emirates and has started preparation for the upcoming Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE, starting on September 05.
“When the coach works hard, the students are forced to work hard. When he travelled daily from Rohtak to Delhi by train or coach, I realized that only hard work earns you a place with him. He taught me never to give up. I want to thank you only for my game. That honesty also hurt him at times.” The former left-handed opening batter for India addressed.
Gambhir won the T20I series against Sri Lanka away from home before facing two series defeats against New Zealand at home and the five-match Test series of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 against Australia down under. After the Asia Cup 2025, he will have the challenge against the West Indies and South Africa at home.
