Outer Delhi Warriors put on a brilliant show with the ball to thrash Purani Dilli 6 by 82 runs in the sixth match of the Delhi Premier League (Season 2) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Chasing 149, Purani Dilli never got going. Young spinner Suyash Sharma was on fire in the powerplay, taking out Samarth Seth (18), skipper Vansh Bedi (1), and Pranav Pant (6) in quick time. Aarush Malhotra (5) also fell early, leaving them struggling at 31/4.
A run‑out sent Dev Lakra (5) back, and then pacer Shaurya Malik struck twice in two balls to remove Yug Gupta (1) and Ekansh Dobal (0). He later trapped Aayush Singh (4) in front, and Purani Dilli were sinking fast at 50/8. Suyash picked up his fourth wicket by removing Rajneesh Dadar (5), before Harsh Tyagi cleaned up the last man, Lalit Yadav (20). The innings ended at just 66 in 14.3 overs.
Earlier, Outer Delhi had chosen to bat first and got off to a quick start through Priyansh Arya (16) and Sanat Sangwan (26). But both openers fell in the sixth over to Rajneesh Dadar, sparking a collapse. Wickets kept falling, and they slipped to 108/7.
For Purani Dilli, Udhav Mohan was outstanding, taking 5/26 and running through the middle and lower order. But some late hitting from Harsh Tyagi (17) and skipper Siddhant Sharma (21) pushed Outer Delhi to 148 before they were bowled out in the last over. That total proved more than enough, as Suyash and Shaurya ripped through Purani Dilli’s batting to hand Outer Delhi a big, one‑sided win.
