Four wickets for only 4 runs in 4 overs—Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed's best-ever T20I bowling figure came against the United Arab Emirates (PAK vs UAE) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday (September 4, 2025).
Against Pakistan's first innings of 171 runs, UAE started their run chase confidently with the help from their openers Alishan Sharafu and Muhammad Waseem. On a tough, turning track, they tried to utilize the first few overs to collect as many runs as possible without losing multiple wickets. Before Waseem's dismissal, UAE scored 41 runs in the first 6 overs, and Sharafu was looking stable against the star-studded Pakistan bowling lineup.
Abrar Ahmed caused the first damage in the second innings of the night by clinching the wicket of Waseem. It was just a trailer from the spinner. The Karachi-born stepped into the field to create a history. Until the fall of UAE's first wicket, the match was poised nicely for a thriller ending.

One by one, Ahmed took the scalps of the UAE middle-order batters. Asif Khan, Rahul Chopra, and Harshit Kaushik were the three batters after Waseem who lost their wickets against the spinner. Abrar not only took the wickets, but he also did not allow opponent batters to score runs without them. For every run, the UAE batter had to toil. In the 4-over spell, the 26-year-old did not concede any boundary over-boundary. For the economical and effective bowling performance, Abrar Ahmed was named Player of the Match.
