A video of the Pakistan cricket team's fielding drill recently caught the attention of cricket fans. The video was posted on social media ahead of their first match of the Asia Cup 2025. Pakistan is scheduled to start their campaign today (September 12, 2025) through a match with Oman, and then they will face archrival India.
Before that, the fielding practice of the Pakistan cricket team became funny material for cricket fans. The Pakistan cricket team was never known for their fielding efforts. They introduced legendary bowlers and batters over the years, but their fielding was always a major setback. When the cricket world revolves in all departments, Pakistan's fielding looks far away from improvement. In the video viewers can see how their fielders make childish mistakes during the fielding drill. Fielders repeatedly make mistakes in attempts to grab the ball.
These scenes are neither eye-shooting from Pakistan cricket fans nor for any cricket-loving fans. Fans, as well as the cricketers, are also well aware of the fact that brilliant moments in fielding can change the direction of a match. Especially during a high-pressure match, when a small error can cause heavy damage.

Funny fielding mistakes during Pakistan's practice
Before the beginning of the Asia Cup 2025, Pakistan won a T20I Tri-Nation series involving Afghanistan and the host, the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Salman Ali Agha-led team Pakistan defeated Afghanistan in the final to win the series. Ahead of their opening match of the Asia Cup 2025, the former champion side is looking strong enough on paper to defeat Oman.
On the other side, India kick-started their campaign with a record-breaking win against the UAE cricket team. The upcoming India vs Pakistan match is scheduled on Sunday, September 14. It will be the second game for both of the teams in the contest. A win in the match will be a statement against all other participating teams. In this year's Asia Cup, a total of 8 teams are in the race to win the title, divided into two groups of four teams.
