Pakistan’s men’s cricket team have started a special training session ahead of their Asian Games 2026 quarter-final against Hong Kong in Nisshin, Japan. The team will begin its campaign on Monday, with captain Sahibzada Farhan leading the side in the crucial knockout match.
Ahead of the quarter-final, Farhan and his teammates took part in a focused training session to prepare for the conditions in Japan. Pakistan had earlier completed a four-day training camp in Karachi, where the players worked on surfaces designed to match the expected conditions and also took part in scenario-based practice.
The Pakistan squad also trained in Nisshin on Sunday, but overnight rain and a wet outfield affected the session. With the quarter-final approaching, the team will look to make the most of its preparation before facing Hong Kong.

Sahibzada Farhan and his Pakistan team have sharpened their skills at Korogi Sports Park ahead of Monday’s Asian Games 2026 quarter-final. The squad travelled to Japan after a four-day training camp in Karachi, where the players practised on surfaces prepared to replicate the expected conditions and worked on different match scenarios.
Pakistan also trained in Nisshin on Sunday, although overnight rain left the outfield wet and disrupted the session. Farhan said the team had focused on adapting to the conditions in Japan and preparing to face spin during the training camp. “We prepared wickets according to the conditions we expect in Japan and tried to practice against spin as much as possible,” Farhan told reporters before the team’s departure.

The Pakistan captain also said the squad’s mix of international, domestic and Pakistan Super League experience would help the players adjust to conditions they cannot control. “As professional cricketers, we have to be mentally prepared for all conditions because the weather and playing conditions are not in our control,” he said.
