Not only batting or bowling, but Pakistani fielders are also struggling in their fielding work too in the ongoing Big Bash League 2025-26 (BBL 2025-26) season. Along with multiple legendary batters and bowlers, Pakistan cricket is also known for making silly mistakes on the field.
Hasan Ali, Pakistan cricket team pacer, made a blooper during the Adelaide Strikers vs Melbourne Stars match at the MCG on January 13. It was a low-scoring contest where Melbourne Stars emerged victorious with ease. Batting first, Adelaide Strikers registered only 83 in 19.3 overs against their all 10 wickets – a complete batting collapse for the team which has star players like Alex Carey, Matt Short, Chris Lynn, and Jamie Overton in their playing combination. Out of eleven, only two players managed to secure two-digit runs.
England pace bowling all-rounder Tom Curran turned out as the wrecker-in-chief for the Melbourne Stars by taking 4 wickets in 4 overs with an economy rate of 2.50. Mitchell Swepson accompanied him by claiming 3 wickets.
Melbourne chased down the paltry total with ease, in 15.1 overs and with 6 wickets in hand. The bowler unit of Strikers, who scalped 4 batters, showed better intention than their batters. In the meantime, Hasan Ali's misfielding gifted the Melbourne Stars some extra runs as well.

In the first attempt, he failed to stop the ball, and the ball rolled towards the boundary rope. Ali turned quickly and dived to stop the ball again, but it already touched the boundary line. After reviewing the action, the umpire signalled it for a four.
In this match, the Pakistani pacer claimed a wicket in his 4-over spell, against 21 runs. He bowled decently, but it was his misfielding which caused the caption, "Hassan Ali misfielded this ball, then it looked like he had saved a boundary; however..."
