The Pakistan team attended a special dinner at Pakistan House in London ahead of the Edgbaston Test. Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK Tipu Usman hosted the event in honour of the national team and its management. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, diplomats and members of the British-Pakistani community also attended the reception.

British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott was also present at the event. The gathering gave officials, cricketers and community representatives an opportunity to meet and interact in an informal setting. It also highlighted the strong connection between Pakistan’s cricket and diplomatic communities in the UK.

Mohsin Naqvi was surrounded by reporters when he arrived at the High Commission in London. As he stepped out of his Mercedes, several reporters approached him with cameras and questions. However, Naqvi did not respond and walked inside without speaking to the media.

Mohsin Naqvi joins squad for pre-match gathering in London

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi joined the Pakistan team for a special dinner in London ahead of the Edgbaston Test. However, he avoided questions from journalists about Pakistan’s political situation and other matters. As he left Pakistan House, Naqvi posed for photographs with media representatives but said he was running late and would not answer questions.

According to sources, Naqvi also held a brief meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari in London. They discussed matters of mutual interest during the meeting. Naqvi also met Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar at Pakistan House, adding a political element to the Pakistan team’s engagements in London.

The dinner came as London hosted several political, diplomatic and sporting activities involving Pakistan. The Pakistan team and its management are also scheduled to meet King Charles III at Clarence House. Naqvi is expected to attend the meeting, making the team’s London visit an important event for both cricket and diplomatic engagements.

Players unwind at Pakistan House days before series-deciding 3rd Test

The Pakistan team attended a special reception at Pakistan House in London as they continued their England tour. The players and team management are also scheduled to meet King Charles III at 3 pm in the gardens of Clarence House. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is also expected to attend the royal meeting.

Pakistan cricket has gone through major changes after the heavy defeat at Lord’s. Seven players, including Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan, were sent home. The coaching staff also saw major changes, with Sarfaraz Ahmed and Umar Gul replaced by white-ball coaches Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke.

The PCB has also issued a show-cause notice to the selection committee over the selection of Imam and Rizwan for the England and West Indies series. Former Pakistan captain and selection committee member Misbah-ul-Haq has reportedly offered to resign amid the sweeping changes. The team will now look to regroup before the series-deciding third Test.

Edgbaston Test set to begin September 9 with series on the line

The third Test between England and Pakistan is set to begin at Edgbaston on September 9, with Pakistan looking to avoid a 3-0 series clean sweep. England have already won the first two Tests, beating Pakistan by an innings and 103 runs at Headingley and by 194 runs at Lord’s.

Pakistan have made major changes to their squad ahead of the final Test. Five uncapped players have been added, while Saim Ayub and Abdullah Fazal have also joined the squad. The group has very little Test experience, with Saim and Abdullah having played only 10 matches combined.

The five uncapped players are Arafat Minhas, Mohammad Imran Jnr, Saad Baig, Mohammad Imran Randhawa and Razaullah. White-ball head coach Mike Hesson and bowling coach Ashley Noffke have also joined the Test coaching staff. Pakistan will now hope the fresh faces can help the team put up a stronger fight at Edgbaston.
