The Punjab Kings (PBKS) have released an emotional note of appreciation after the sudden suspension of the IPL 2025 season. In a message posted on their official Instagram handle, the team confirmed the safety of every player, support staff member, and personnel involved in the team. PBKS conveyed extra gratitude to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Indian Premier League (IPL) administration, Indian Railways, police administrations, and state agencies for their harmonized cooperation in facilitating a problem-free and secure transit from Dharamsala.

The incidents came after the match between PBKS and Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 8, which was cut short after a floodlight failure at the Dharamsala stadium.
Punjab Kings were batting on 122 for 1 in 10.1 overs at the time of the stoppage. After the abrupt stoppage, the fans were evacuated, and on May 9, the BCCI officially declared a one-week league suspension to reconsider logistical and security issues.

We are happy to inform you that all our players, support staff, and all those connected with Punjab Kings cricket operations are safe and sound. A big thank you to the BCCI, IPL, Indian Railways, police, state authorities, and our internal operations team," stated PBKS. The franchise also thanked CEO Mr. Satish Menon for his "stable guidance and serene leadership" during the unsettled time.

A Call for Calm and Unity

In addition to their message of gratitude, PBKS called on the media to exercise responsible reporting at this critical moment. "This is not the time for panic and noise. It's a time to go forward with caution and foresight," the statement read. They stressed the need for national unity and reaffirmed their unflinching support for India's military forces, particularly in the wake of recent tributes such as singer B Praak's emotional performance prior to the match.

PBKS ended by thanking supporters for their consistent support over a season that will be remembered, noting that both on-field and off-field experiences of IPL 2025 have been ones to remember.
