The 31-year-old last played in the third Test at Lord’s, where he impressed with figures of 5/74 and 2/38. However, his efforts went in vain as India narrowly missed victory, falling short by just 22 runs while chasing a target of 193.

In the ongoing five-match series, he has played two Tests so far, taking 12 wickets in four innings at an average of 21.00 and a strike rate of 43.33. His performance includes two brilliant five-wicket hauls.

Bumrah’s overall Test career is also impressive. He has taken 217 wickets in 47 matches at an average of 19.48, including 15 five-wicket hauls.
