The 62nd match of the Indian Premier League 2023 was played between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday. The venue for the game was Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad where the visitors, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss. After winning the toss, SRH skipper Aiden Markram chose to bowl first. Gujarat Titans openers Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill came to bat, the start was not very good as Saha got out on the third delivery he played. Star bowler of SRH Bhuvneshwar Kumar drew first blood for his team in the match.

Maiden IPL Century for Shubman Gill
The knock was even more special for Shubman Gill as this was his maiden century in IPL history and the first ton for any Gujarat Titans batter. Before, he scored 94 not out in the 51st match of the cash-rich league at Narendra Modi Stadium itself. In the post-match presentation of that match, Shubman Gill said “‘No worries, there are 5-6 games left I’ll get my hundred in one of them” and he achieved the same eventually.
Shubman Gill also completed 500 runs for the first time in an IPL season. In addition, with his brilliant century he also completed 1000 runs for Gujarat Titans in just 29 innings.
