Prithvi Shaw reacts to heated altercation with Musheer Khan during Ranji Trophy 2025-26 warm-up clash
The former Mumbai opening batter, Prithvi Shaw, has reacted to the heated altercation with the all-rounder, Musheer Khan, during the warm-up clash ahead of the 2025-26 season of the Ranji Trophy.

On a day when Prithvi Shaw smashed a fine century during the warm-up clash ahead of the 2025-26 season of the Ranji Trophy for Maharashtra against Mumbai at the MCA Stadium in Pune on the opening day, the headline by the evening was his heated altercation with the former team-mate, Musheer Khan, by stumps, as it didn’t paint a bright picture.
The former Mumbai and India opening batter was seen angrily rushing at Musheer after completing his century against the former domestic side. However, on the third day’s play, Shaw walked up to Musheer, after the dismissal of his opening partner, Arshin Kulkarni, and wrapped his arm around the all-rounder’s neck and appeared to have a friendly chat with the youngster.

Musheer, in reply, responded by keeping his hands on Prithvi’s waist during the light conversation. “Prithvi has realized his mistake and approached Musheer and apologized to him. Prithvi told him, ‘I am like an elder brother to you.’ So, all is well between them.” It has been known that the TOI has been reported.

Opening the batting, Shaw hammered a cracking knock of 181 runs off 220 balls with the help of 21 boundaries and three sixes, having shared a fine 305-run opening stand with Arshin, who also notched up a superb century of 186 runs in just 140 balls, smashing 33 boundaries and four sixes after they decided to bat first.
In a boost for the Mumbai side, Sarfaraz Khan, Musheer’s elder brother, has completed his injury rehab at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru and will feature in the Ranji Trophy. Their opening clash will be against Jammu and Kashmir on October 15, away from home.
Sarfaraz suffered a quadriceps injury while scoring successive centuries in the Buchi Babu Trophy. But he was forced to be away from the Duleep Trophy 2025-26 and Irani Cup 2025 due to injury. The Ranji Trophy will be a chance for him to be back in the national Test side.
