The HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 will take place from April 11 to May 18, with 34 games to be contested across four grounds: Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, and Multan. The tournament will start with Islamabad United vs Lahore Qalandars at Rawalpindi on April 11. All six teams, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, and Multan Sultans, will feature in a double round-robin format, and the top four will feature playoffs. The group stage would conclude on May 10, followed by playoffs, leading to the grand final in Lahore on May 18
Players to watch out for
Fakhar Zaman vs Alzarri Joseph
Fakhar Zaman, who loves to make aggressive starts, will have to deal with the challenge of Alzarri Joseph's pace and bounce. Joseph's initial breakthroughs have been the turning points for Zalmi.
Shaheen Shah Afridi vs Babar Azam
A showpiece duel between Pakistan's leading fast bowler and their batting genius. Shaheen's new-ball ability to swing the ball could be a test for Babar's technique in the early stages.
Sikandar Raza vs Hussain Talat
Raza's all-round talent will come in handy against Talat, who has been in good touch both with bat and ball. Their battle in the middle overs could influence the game's momentum.
Daryl Mitchell vs Luke Wood
Mitchell's ability to adapt to spin and pace will be put to test by Wood's left-arm seam and variations, particularly in the powerplay.
Mohammad Haris vs Haris Rauf
A thrilling confrontation between Haris's aggressive batting and Rauf's express bowling. Early losses could swing the pendulum in Lahore's direction.
