The HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 will take place from April 11 to May 18, with 34 games to be contested across four grounds: Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, and Multan. The tournament will start with Islamabad United vs Lahore Qalandars at Rawalpindi on April 11. All six teams, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, and Multan Sultans, will feature in a double round-robin format, and the top four will feature playoffs. The group stage would conclude on May 10, followed by playoffs, leading to the grand final in Lahore on May 18.
Key Player Duels
Fakhar Zaman against Alzarri Joseph
Fakhar's explosive top-order starts will get a stern examination at the hands of Joseph's raw speed and bounce. A powerplay decision-maker.
Daryl Mitchell against Arif Yaqoob
Mitchell's composed finisher's talent will be put to the test by Yaqoob's awkward leg-spin—look out for a closely fought affair if it goes to the last gasp.
Babar Azam against Shaheen Shah Afridi
One of the big-ticket encounters Pakistan's superstar batter takes on his countryman. Shaheen's initial swing against Babar's refinement may determine the tone.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore vs. Haris Rauf
TKC's free-flowing strokeplay may be challenged by Haris Rauf's hot pace, particularly at the death.
Sikandar Raza vs. Abdul Samad
A battle of all-rounders Raza's off-spin could bother Samad's aggressive intent in the middle overs.
